Jo Simon Construction have carried out extensive refurbishment in our property at Wakefield in the following areas:

Phase 1:

• Kitchen ~ lowered ceiling with series of spotlights, kickboard lighting ~ lighting is a real feature of Trish’s personal attention to detail. Fitted units with a range of display and storage space, dishwasher, wine cooler, American style fridge freezer and range. The kitchen doorway was widened to create a lighter and more practical space. All co-ordinated with blinds and colour scheme throughout.
• Utility room including new washer and dryer to reflect the same style as the kitchen. New back door.
• Downstairs toilet/cloakroom.
• Hall and new double glazed front door; oak doors throughout the house. Oak floors in kitchen, utility and cloakroom. New oak staircase spindles, banister and newel posts.
• 2 bedrooms decorated and 1 study which was also equipped with bespoke oak workstation.

The bulk of this work was completed when we were on our honeymoon for two weeks and the whole project was completed in less than four weeks. The quality of the men Trish employs, from design to completion, was first class; they were prompt, efficient, tidy and their work was second to none. All along Trish kept us informed on the progress and we had absolute confidence in her ability to keep the project moving. On our return we were stunned by the quality of all the work. .

Phase 2:

• Family bathroom ~ new shower, bath, sink and unit storage, toilet, radiator, removal of tiling, blind.

Again, the majority of this phase was completed during a holiday period, 1 week this time! The bathroom is particularly stylish with some unique features eg. kickboard lights on the side of the bath and Karndean flooring.

Phase 3:

• Lounge and Dining room areas ~ ceilings skimmed, new window installed in dining room, decorated throughout, carpets and new electrical points (sockets and lights).

A lot of consultation took place with Trish prior to this phase commencing as this is the main focal area of the house. Trish had a wealth of suggestions, including samples, in response to our ideas. The colour scheme and quality of furnishings is luxurious and we are delighted with the results.

We are currently in the process of agreeing the final phase of the master bedroom and en-suite. The bespoke oak walk-in wardrobes are now complete, producing a much more spacious storage area that is well organised in response to our needs. The quality again is first class and the visual impact stunning. We are in consultation now regarding the en suite.

Generic points regarding all phases:

• Trish based all her ideas for all of our home improvements on our suggestions; she advised and guided us in making the right decisions and choices. We have always been happy with the outcomes.
• Trish had a wealth of ideas about the design, style, materials etc which were really cutting edge, yet classic. No corners were cut and nothing was too much trouble.
• Any snags were dealt with professionally and promptly.

We can’t thank Jo Simon enough – we would certainly recommend Jo Simon Construction wholeheartedly and without reservation.

Trish & Simon Nuttall of Jo Simon Construction undertook an extensive building refurbishment for us in March 2011. This involved re-roofing, rewiring, re-plumbing, fitting new central heating, 3 bathrooms and new windows as well as additional work.

We purchased Beech House, 196 Moor Lane, Netherton in May 2008 from Simon & Trish Nuttall (Jo Simon Homes).

Our home was constructed in 2007, it is a detached stone built property with 4 bedrooms, Shaker style dining kitchen with granite worktops, Rangemaster cooker & American style fridge/freezer, integrated dishwasher etc. We have sealed double glazing units, a security alarm, GCH & underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, utility room in the integral garage, downstairs family bathroom & en-suite attached to the guest room downstairs.

The whole property was very well presented with a high specification throughout the house.

During the whole purchase both Trish & Simon were very helpful & accommodating with regard to any queries we had or viewings we needed to arrange.

Although most people would say that moving house is a particularly stressful time, we found that the whole process went extremely smoothly.

I can confirm as Deputy Headteacher at Birkwood Primary, Cudworth that Jo Simon Construction have recently completed a complete overhaul/ remodeling of our school hall. The hall has been transformed from an unattractive space into the school’s central learning environment which is bright, modern and equipped to deliver high quality learning experiences suitable for 21st century education. At all times, Jo Simon Homes worked with the school to ensure the finish and quality of the project was of the highest standard. They also liaised with our ICT partners so that technological requirements were factored into the project. The company also kept disruption to school, to an absolute minimum, working in school holidays and at weekends and all work was completed in the agreed timescale. This extensive project came at a cost, however, thanks to the quality of the work I have no hesitation in declaring it, ‘worth every penny!’ and have no hesitation in recommending this company to any establishment.

To whom it may concern: It is difficult to say what is the best thing about using Jo Simon Construction for a project. It could be the fabulous project planning and management, the meticulous attention to detail or the professional behaviour of all their workers. It could be the fact that you know that if they are working on a task it will be done 100% correctly, with no cutting corners or cowboy bodges. That they can suggest and supply high quality fixtures and fittings if required to save time and effort shopping. Or if could be the fact that as a client you can completely relax knowing that everything will be done to the highest standard, to the agreed cost and timescales, and that nothing will count as finished until you are completely happy. Jo Simon Construction replaced a large external flight of stone balustrade for us, a job which we are completely happy with, as well as various other minor tasks. We would very happily use them for any other building projects and have recommended them to numerous friends.

We employed Trish and Simon on the recommendation of our neighbours, firstly to repair our roof but then to refurbish, design and decorate our living room and two bedrooms. This included plastering work, inserting new windows, electrical work, decorating, and installing two period fireplaces and two built in shelving units.

Throughout the process Trish and Simon were great to work with. From the beginning they were always happy to discuss our ideas, and were patient to the end. During the work they took time to explain what they were doing and to ensure that we were happy with progress.

When it came to the work itself they were clearly concerned that they should complete the job to a very high standard.  We are absolutely delighted with the outcome.

Particular mention should be made of the quality of the bespoke shelving units and desk that they made and fitted. Excellent!
